Sun up for the studio

Sun up for the studio

In the grand tradition of flip flopping, we have decided to stay with the studio. Because what is life but a long series of changing one's mind. The catalyst for this turnaround involved the sale of the queen's first Saori tapestry.

A few months ago she took a Saori weaving class. Saori is a free-form style of weaving that allows the artist to paint with fabric through weaving. It's all part and parcel of a meditative art practice. Very Zen and such.

Her first attempts on a rigid heddle loom were really nice. From there she aspired to buy a Saori loom, which is quite pricey. She bought the loom, but then we decided to leave studio. Not a week later, one of her pieces sold. The question became, if she is to continue to create these pieces, where will she show and sell them? Hence, we decided to stay in the studio for at least another year.

So here we are. For at least another year.
